Life can seem extremely difficult at times as we may face situations that are challenging to deal with . This can leave us feeling quite vulnerable and alone in the world, and may be caused by situations that seem out of our control.

Together we can explore the emotions you are feeling, I will help you to unravel all the sad and negative thoughts that keep ruminating within you, giving you those difficult feelings to deal with. I will do so in a supportive and empathetic way, so you no longer feel alone with your struggles.

I will offer you somewhere safe and non-judgemental to explore the concerns you are experiencing. We can work together to make sense of what is happening in your world so you are able to feel less alone and able to move forward with your own life. Relationship Counselling

As well as working with individuals I have a keen interest in working with couples improve their relationships by supporting them to unravel the issues that appear to be causing the discord, in the hope they can have a more harmonious relationship.

Some couples can reach a stage in their relationship where issues begin to arise, this may be for a variety of reasons such as:

  • - Communication Problems
  • - Intimacy Issues
  • - Trust difficulties
  • - Concerns around step/blended families
  • ...and many more.

By talking through these concerns with someone that will remain non-judgmental and impartial, it can support you to deal with the dilemmas you are experiencing and help the relationship move on.

In the counselling session I will work warmly and sensitively at your pace to assist you in moving forward with your life.

My fees for relationship counselling are £50.00 per session.

Children & Young People (CYP)

Many young people aged 11-17 face a similar range of problems to adults, from family and relationship concerns to depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues anger, body image concerns and low self-esteem etc. This is all on top of school-related issues such as bullying and exam-stress.

All this may be happening while the young person is trying to establish a new identity as an adult. Many young people can feel inadequate or even ashamed of not being able to cope with all that life may be throwing at them.

I can offer a calm, safe non-judgmental space to help them to untangle the issues that are wearing them down.

I work as integrative counsellor which means that I combine ideas and techniques from different therapeutic schools that I have trained in as I feel everyone is unique, so different methods are needed for different individuals. I have completed various training in mindfulness, which is a technique to help calm the mind, with which I am able to support young people to ease their burdens. Before I began counselling, a lot of my work was carried out in both mainstream schools and special needs schools, through which I gained qualifications and experience in supporting children.

I carry out my sessions online through video call & I find this appears to be less daunting for most adolescents. If you are a parent/carer experiencing concerns about your child or young person, please contact me for consultation of how I could support you. I also have an Enhanced DBS to work with young people.

Loss through bereavement and family estrangement

My speciality is working with those experiencing loss through both bereavement and family estrangement. I have carried out intensive training around both issues.

The impact of loss can leave us feeling extremely fragile and vulnerable with some difficult emotions to cope with, this may include fear, sadness, anger, shock, denial and guilt etc

We will take this journey slowly at a pace you feel safe with so you know your feelings are being heard and validated, thus giving you a safe space to talk.

My aim is to assist the client with adjusting to a new kind of normal and to support them on their journey.

I am happy to offer a free 15-minute video or telephone call for you to ask me any questions you may have and to get a feel of how I work. I find this also helps the initial session feel less daunting for new clients and provides more of an understanding of how counselling works.
